Getting the facts on waxing will give you a heads up on what to expect and how to prepare for your waxing service.
How long does waxing last before the hair starts to grow back?
Each person is unique in this respect and it also depends on how long they have been waxing. The first time you might feel stubble in about a week. This is because there are three hairs in each follicle, each at a different stage of development. Each of the three hairs needs to be removed as they reach the proper length for removal, about 1/4 inch. After all three hairs have been removed the hair will take longer to grow back and the hairs will be finer and more sparse. Regular waxing will keep it that way though if you wait too long in between it will be like starting over.
What is the difference between a brazilian and a bikini wax?
A bikini is the removal of the hair that would be outside of a bikini line. A Brazilian is the removal of all or most of the hair in the pubic area. From the front to the back in the middle and all of that.
How long after shaving do I have to wait for a Brazilian wax?
You will need to wait two weeks in order to have enough hair growth to wax, about 1/4 inch in length.
How often do I need to get a Brazilian wax?
Every 3 to 4 weeks depending on your hair growth. We recommend this for the first 3 waxes. Then, by the third consecutive removal, all the hairs in the follicle are removed and your appointments can spread out. So, if you come in for your waxing on a regular basis your hair growth slows down, gets thinner and becomes more sparse. This is because the body has to come up with all the resource for all the hairs all at once.
How long should my hair be?
Should be enough for the wax to grab. I would say about 1/4 to 1/2 inch at the most. If the hair is longer than a 1/2 inch it will be more uncomfortable for you.
How long after a waxing service before you can tan?
Avoid sun tanning, tanning beds or self-tanners for twenty-four hours after a wax.
